Incumbent Republican Eli Crane holds a strong position in Arizona’s 2nd Congressional District, an R+7 seat covering rural northeastern Arizona including parts of the Navajo Nation. A late-August poll showed Crane leading rematch opponent Jonathan Nez 53% to 42%, extending the nine-point margin from 2024. Both candidates ran unopposed in the July primaries, leaving Crane to benefit from incumbency, higher cash reserves, and consistent support in a district that has favored Republicans in recent cycles. Nez continues to emphasize Native American turnout and fundraising, yet current trader pricing of 69.5% for Republicans versus 29% for Democrats reflects the district’s partisan lean and Crane’s polling edge ahead of the November general election.
