Nevada's 2nd congressional district features an open seat following the retirement of longtime Republican incumbent Mark Amodei, with primaries in June 2026 selecting Republican nominee David Flippo, who secured former President Trump's endorsement, and Democratic nominee Teresa Benitez-Thompson. The district maintains a Republican partisan voting index around R+7, supporting consistent historical preference for GOP candidates in general elections. Forecasters rate the race as Safe or Likely Republican, though a July poll showed a narrow head-to-head margin. Trader consensus at 74.5% for the Republican Party reflects the district's structural lean and post-primary consolidation around Flippo, while the Democratic share at 22% accounts for potential turnout shifts or campaign dynamics ahead of the November 3 general election.
