Lorenzo Sonego and Tallon Griekspoor meet in the Montreal first round on outdoor hard courts, with trader consensus reflecting a near-even matchup driven by both players' inconsistent 2026 campaigns. Sonego sits at No. 88 with an 8-11 record after a Gstaad title run ended in the next round, while Griekspoor at No. 69 holds a 9-15 mark following a loss in Washington. Sonego owns the 2-0 head-to-head edge, including a three-set win on the same Montreal hard courts in 2024. Limited recent momentum for either player, combined with typical early-round variance at ATP 1000 events, keeps implied probabilities tightly contested ahead of the August 3-4 clash.
