Hyeon Chung enters the ITF M25 Taipei round of 16 on hard courts as the clear market favorite due to his superior career pedigree, including a former top-20 ranking and multiple ATP titles, compared to Hikaru Shiraishi's current ATP ranking near 500. Chung's recent ITF results, including wins on hard surfaces in Thailand and Japan events through mid-2026, reinforce trader confidence in his form and fitness after his extended injury absence. Shiraishi, a consistent performer at lower-tier events with a career-high near 421, lacks comparable experience against higher-caliber opponents. Their prior head-to-head favors Chung, further shaping the implied probability reflected in current pricing.
