Gabriel Ghetu enters the ITF M15 Targu Jiu first-round clay-court matchup as the clear favorite, backed by his ATP ranking near 700 and stronger recent results in similar M15 events, including multiple wins on clay this summer. The 18-year-old Romanian has demonstrated consistent form with improved win rates against comparable opposition. In contrast, Rares Andrei Golescu, a 20-year-old compatriot and wildcard entrant ranked well outside the top 3000, shows more variable outcomes and limited success at this level. Both players share Romanian nationality and experience on the surface, but Ghetu’s superior ranking, head-to-head absence favoring the higher seed, and recent momentum shape the trader consensus around a high implied probability for the top player. Schedule position and any late fitness updates remain the primary variables.
