Both American players meet in an early-round match at the ITF M25 Southaven on outdoor hard courts, part of a 32-player singles draw running August 3-9, 2026. Joshua Lawrence Jr., a 23-year-old right-hander with limited senior results and a recent loss in another M25 event, faces Brandon Carpico, an Ohio State standout whose strong 2026 college doubles campaign included a US Open main-draw berth and consistent dual-match experience. Carpico’s higher recent match volume and team-level fitness edge may influence singles consistency on a surface where both lack extensive pro histories. No confirmed injuries or withdrawals affect the field, leaving outcome driven by current form, serve effectiveness, and adaptation to the Mississippi conditions. Trader consensus reflects these baseline profiles in a matchup without dominant historical data.
