Both American players meet in the round of 32 of the ITF M25 East Lansing on outdoor hard courts, with Sebastian Gorzny holding the slight edge in current ATP ranking at 876 versus Axel Nefve’s 994. Gorzny, a 22-year-old University of Texas product, reached his career-high ranking in early August after steady ITF and Challenger appearances, though he exited the Lexington Challenger in the second round. Nefve, 26 and a Notre Dame/Florida alum, arrives on the back of a straight-sets qualifying or opening-round victory in East Lansing and brings more experience at this level. The matchup pits Gorzny’s youth and recent ranking momentum against Nefve’s established ITF results on home soil, with no significant head-to-head history or injury notes shaping the contest.
