Taylah Preston enters her US Open first-round matchup against Alycia Parks on the back of strong recent hard-court form, including a WTA 125 title win in Vancouver in early August that lifted her to a career-high ranking of No. 100. The 20-year-old Australian has posted an 8-2 record in her last 10 matches and excels at pressuring second serves, a key edge against an opponent with one of the WTA’s highest double-fault rates. Parks, ranked No. 89, brings a powerful serve and home-crowd support on New York hard courts but carries a near .500 record in 2026 with notable inconsistency in big-match scenarios. The pair has no prior head-to-head history, leaving room for early adjustments in a matchup defined by contrasting styles.
