Gold prices have corrected from three-month highs near $4,700 after Fed Chair Kevin Warsh’s Jackson Hole remarks reinforced the 2% PCE target and elevated September rate-hike odds to roughly 58%, following July core PCE at 3.7%. The pullback capped an August advance of 13-16% fueled by Treasury long-bond buybacks, ETF inflows exceeding 40 tonnes, central-bank purchases, and safe-haven flows amid geopolitical risks. Traders now focus on the week’s data releases—August manufacturing and services PMIs, ADP employment, JOLTS, and initial claims—which will shape expectations for the Fed’s September decision and real-yield trajectory. Gold holds above the 200-day SMA near $4,525, with resistance at the recent high and support tested near $4,450 amid ongoing volatility in the dollar and Treasury yields.
