Paris Saint-Germain clinched their fifth straight Ligue 1 title with a 2-0 victory over Lens in Matchday 33 on May 13, leaving them unbeaten on 76 points after 33 games and securing direct Champions League qualification. Lens holds second at 67 points, comfortably in top four with one match remaining. The battle for the final two Champions League spots intensifies among third-placed Lille (61 points, +17 GD), fourth-placed Lyon (60, +17 GD), and fifth-placed Rennes (59, +11 GD), separated by just two points entering Matchday 34. Lyon's upset 2-1 loss to mid-table Toulouse last weekend allowed rivals to close the gap, while Lille edged Monaco 1-0 and Rennes beat Paris FC 2-1; head-to-head results and goal difference could prove decisive if points tie, with Rennes goalkeeper Brice Samba suspended for their finale.
