The Chicago Cubs, leading the NL Central at 28-16, face the Chicago White Sox in a three-game crosstown series at Guaranteed Rate Field starting Friday, where trader consensus reflects the Cubs' superior overall form despite a decimated rotation—Cade Horton sidelined for the season with elbow issues, Matthew Boyd out post-meniscus surgery, and Justin Steele nursing a setback. Probable openers Edward Cabrera (Cubs) versus Sean Burke (White Sox) set a competitive tone, with the hosts surging on a 4-1 run in their last five amid a 21-21 AL Central mark. White Sox bullpen strains from Mike Vasil's 60-day IL stint add uncertainty, while home-field advantage and recent momentum could fuel an upset in this rivalry matchup.
