Coco Gauff and Elina Svitolina meet in the 2026 Italian Open final on clay at the Foro Italico, with Gauff seeking her first Rome title after strong recent results on the surface while Svitolina chases a third crown following her 2017 and 2018 victories. Svitolina arrives with momentum from a 27-7 record this season, including semifinal wins over Elena Rybakina—where she saved 16 break points—and world No. 4 Iga Swiatek. Gauff has advanced through comeback victories and maintains elite clay-court consistency, holding a slight ranking edge at No. 4 to Svitolina’s No. 10. Their head-to-head stands at 3-2 for Svitolina, who has won their two 2026 encounters, though Gauff’s youth and experience in high-stakes clay matches create a closely contested dynamic.
