The Philadelphia Phillies carry momentum into their matchup against the Pittsburgh Pirates following an 11-9 extra-innings win on Friday, highlighted by Kyle Schwarber’s pair of home runs that pushed his MLB-leading total to 20. Cristopher Sanchez anchors the Phillies’ rotation with a 2.11 ERA, while the Pirates counter with Bubba Chandler, who owns a 4.62 ERA and has struggled in recent outings. Philadelphia’s offense has heated up behind Schwarber and Bryce Harper, whose four-hit performance contributed to the comeback, whereas Pittsburgh’s bullpen surrendered a late lead. Both clubs carry several players on the injured list, which could shape lineup adjustments at PNC Park, and the Pirates’ home record offers limited cushion in this interleague series.
