The Milwaukee Brewers, Atlanta Braves, and Los Angeles Dodgers hold commanding leads in their respective NL divisions entering the final month, positioning them as near-locks for first-round byes straight into the NLDS. The Philadelphia Phillies and Chicago Cubs have created separation in the wild-card standings, while the Arizona Diamondbacks maintain a slim half-game edge over the San Diego Padres for the final postseason berth. Recent results, including series wins by the Braves and Brewers against contenders, have reinforced these gaps, though September schedules featuring divisional matchups and remaining head-to-head games could still shift wild-card seeding and tiebreaker scenarios. Teams outside the top six, such as the Marlins, Cardinals, and Reds, face steep deficits with limited games remaining.
