Taylor Swift’s “The Fate of Ophelia” holds a commanding lead in the Best Pop market thanks to its nine-week run atop the Billboard Hot 100, the song’s central role in her Life of a Showgirl era, and Swift’s nine total VMA nominations announced in mid-August. The track’s elaborate video earned nods across creative categories, reinforcing its frontrunner status among traders. The remaining nominees— Ariana Grande’s “Hate That I Made You Love Me,” Charli XCX’s “SS26,” LISA’s “Dream,” Olivia Rodrigo’s “Drop Dead,” Sabrina Carpenter’s “House Tour,” and Tate McRae’s “Nobody’s Girl”—form a crowded field of strong pop contenders, but none match Swift’s current commercial and cultural momentum. With fan voting closing September 25 and the ceremony set for September 27, late shifts remain possible if streaming or social metrics surge for any competitor.
