Bruno Mars’ “I Just Might” leads the Best R&B field at the 2026 VMAs with the strongest market-implied odds among the six nominees, driven by its chart dominance—including a Billboard Hot 100 debut at No. 1—and Mars’ six total nominations, the highest for any male artist. The track’s retro funk-disco sound and high-profile rollout from his album *The Romantic* have given it clear momentum ahead of fan voting, which closes September 25. Justin Bieber’s “Yukon” and Kehlani’s “Folded” sit in the next tier on streaming and critical reception, while the collaborative entries from Chris Brown, Dave & Tems, and Mariah the Scientist with Kali Uchis trail, reflecting more modest current visibility. The September 27 ceremony at the Peacock Theater remains the decisive event, with voter sentiment still fluid in a competitive category.
