Ann Li enters the WTA Nottingham Open grass-court matchup as the clear favorite over Kimberly Birrell, bolstered by her superior WTA ranking near No. 29 and a head-to-head edge that includes a three-set victory in Miami earlier in 2026. Li has shown strong recent form with semifinal runs on clay and consistent main-draw results, while Birrell, ranked outside the top 60, has posted solid but less dominant results on faster surfaces and previously reached the Nottingham quarterfinals. The grass surface favors aggressive baseline play and serve-volley elements where Li’s power and experience provide an advantage, though Birrell’s prior grass success and ability to extend rallies keep the contest competitive for traders assessing implied probabilities.
