Anhelina Kalinina enters the WTA Berlin qualifying opener on grass as the higher-ranked player at No. 69 against Lulu Sun at No. 110, with no prior head-to-head record. Kalinina holds a stronger recent record, winning six of her last ten matches after strong clay results, while Sun has managed just three wins in her past ten outings and exited the Ilkley grass event in straight sets. Kalinina’s four-year absence from the surface introduces adaptation questions on the quicker courts, yet her experience and ranking edge shape trader consensus around her favored implied probability. Sun’s New Zealand grass exposure offers some counterbalance in what projects as a competitive first-round qualifier.
