Hugo Gaston enters the Nottingham 2 Challenger grass-court match as the higher-ranked player at world No. 119 against British left-hander Felix Gill at No. 220, with no prior head-to-head record. Gaston’s 2026 singles record sits at 1-5 after early exits on clay, including Roland Garros, though his baseline variety and experience at ATP level provide an edge on faster surfaces. Gill, who achieved a career-high ranking in June, reached his first Challenger final earlier this year and posted solid grass results in Birmingham, benefiting from home-soil familiarity and the early Wimbledon preparation period. The grass surface and recent scheduling favor aggressive play, with both players showing limited recent match wins.
