FunPlus Phoenix enters the VCT China Stage 2 Play-Ins lower bracket matchup as the more established side against KeepBest Gaming, drawing on prior VCT experience and roster continuity versus KBG's recent ascent through the China Nationals pro qualifier. FPX dropped a 1-2 series to JDG Esports earlier in the Play-Ins, while KeepBest secured strong results in qualifier playoffs, including sweeps and close victories over teams like A Team and Rare Atom. The best-of-three format on August 9 highlights map pool execution and adaptation, with FPX's veteran core providing an edge in high-stakes VCT China play while KBG's momentum from promotion contention keeps the series competitive.
