This market will resolve to "Yes" if Jeff Bezos is announced as purchasing a stake in Liverpool Football Club, or any of its parent or subsidiary companies, by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". Purchasing a stake refers to Jeff Bezos acquiring direct equity ownership, voting shares, convertible rights treated as equity, or equivalent ownership interests in Liverpool Football Club or of a legal entity that primarily owns Liverpool Football Club. Stakes acquired through independent entities entirely controlled or owned by Jeff Bezos (e.g. a holding company, a family trust, private investment vehicle, etc.) will count. Non-equity financial instruments or stakes acquired by private persons or entities not owned or controlled by Jeff Bezos will not count; acquisitions by index or mutual funds, or consortia will qualify. An official announcement of a completed qualifying acquisition, or of a binding agreement to complete a qualifying acquisition, within this market's timeframe will be sufficient to resolve this market to "Yes". Speculation, suggestions, plans, or other announcements which do not announce a completed acquisition or a binding acquisition agreement, however, will not count. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Liverpool Football Club and a consensus of credible reporting.A consortium including Jeff Bezos completed a minority stake purchase of roughly 30% in Liverpool FC on August 14, 2026, valuing the Premier League club above $7 billion and installing Amit Bhatia as vice chairman while Fenway Sports Group retains majority ownership and operational control. This development, backed by additional investors such as Eduardo Saverin, directly fuels the elevated implied probability for a 2026 ownership announcement by establishing Bezos as an equity participant with potential pathways toward greater influence. Liverpool's strong recent on-pitch form and transfer activity benefit from the influx of capital, which could support squad depth, injury management, and competitive positioning in domestic and European competitions without immediate disruption to the existing hierarchy.
