This market will resolve based on the total number of knife kills recorded across all completed maps of the Counter-Strike 2 tournament at the 2026 Esports World Cup (EWC 2026), scheduled for August 12, 2026 to August 23, 2026. A knife kill is any kill credited in-game to a player using the knife (melee) against an opponent. Kills made with any other weapon, including the Zeus x27 taser, do not count. Every knife kill in every completed official map of the event counts individually toward the total. Only maps played in the 32-team main event count, including both the group stage and the playoffs. Maps played in the Open Qualifiers, the Last Chance Qualifier, or any showmatch do not count. The market resolves to the single range containing the final total number of knife kills at the conclusion of the event. If the Counter-Strike 2 tournament at EWC 2026 is cancelled, or is not completed such that its results are not determined by September 6, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, this market will resolve to "Other." The resolution source for this market will be official information from HLTV (https://www.hltv.org); however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Knife kills remain rare in professional CS2 due to the disciplined, gun-centric play that defines high-stakes tournaments like EWC 2026.** With 32 teams competing in Paris from August 12–23 in a double-elimination format across group stage and playoffs, traders assign the highest implied probabilities to the 4-6 range (34.5%) and 7-9 range (26.0%) because most maps feature controlled engagements that minimize close-range melee opportunities. The 50% on “Other” likely reflects uncertainty around edge-case totals outside the listed buckets, while lower outcomes like 0 (14.5%) or 1-3 (12.0%) price in the possibility of near-zero incidents typical of elite-level avoidance of unnecessary risks. Recent pre-tournament coverage and historical CS2 event data reinforce this positioning, showing average knife kills per map well below one in similar Valve-tier LANs. No major roster changes, map-pool shifts, or format alterations have emerged in the past week that would meaningfully increase chaotic situations favoring knife plays. The wisdom of crowds reflected in these prices aligns with established patterns of low melee totals in pro Counter-Strike 2.
