This is a Polymarket on the winner of the IndyCar Grand Prix of Monterey, scheduled for Sep 6, 2026. If the IndyCar Grand Prix of Monterey is canceled or rescheduled to a date 7 days after the original scheduled date, this market will resolve to "Other." This market will resolve in favor of the driver who is officially listed in first place in the Official Box Score / Final Race Results published by IndyCar following the conclusion of the race. The official results are typically released shortly after the race ends and include any applied penalties and official adjustments. Disqualifications or changes made after the publication of the official results will not affect market resolution. The timing of the victory lane ceremony does not determine the result for this market — only IndyCar's published results will be used to resolve this market. The resolution source will be the official IndyCar website (indycar.com) and a consensus of credible sports news reporting.Scott McLaughlin’s commanding 90.5% implied probability stems primarily from his pole-winning lap at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, where the Team Penske Chevrolet posted the fastest time in the final moments of qualifying to edge newly crowned champion Alex Palou by just 0.0177 seconds. McLaughlin converted strong practice pace into a front-row lockout and has shown consistent road-course form with the DEX-sponsored entry, leading traders to price in a high likelihood of leading the majority of the 95-lap season finale. The clean opening stages and single early caution further supported the market’s assessment of his control. Realistic challengers include an opening-lap incident, mechanical issue, or strategy misstep that could hand the lead to drivers such as Palou, Kyle Kirkwood, or Pato O’Ward, all of whom remain within striking distance on restarts or alternate tire strategies.
