The 2026-27 Liga FPD Apertura remains tightly contested for most clean sheets after roughly eight matches per side, with no club establishing clear defensive dominance. Early results show Inter San Carlos, San Carlos, and Sporting San José holding slight edges in shutouts, yet the league average of 2.45-2.55 goals per game and frequent both-teams-to-score outcomes have kept tallies low across the board. Traditional powers Alajuelense, Saprissa, Herediano, and Cartaginés possess strong historical backlines and goalkeeping depth, but inconsistent recent form—including high-scoring results for Saprissa and Cartaginés—has prevented any single side from pulling ahead. With half the campaign still ahead and roster stability untested over a full schedule, trader consensus reflects broad parity among the ten-team field.
