The Orioles (34-40, fourth in the AL East) enter the three-game series at T-Mobile Park trailing the Mariners (38-36, first in the AL West) by several games in the wild-card race after dropping the opener 3-1 on June 16. Seattle’s home advantage and stronger recent form contrast with Baltimore’s 12-21 road record and multiple starters on the injured list, including Chris Bassitt (back) and Cade Povich (elbow). The teams split their prior four-game set in Baltimore, with Orioles right-hander Brandon Young seeking a fifth straight quality start after shutting out Seattle earlier. Mariners catcher Cal Raleigh’s return from the IL and J.P. Crawford’s imminent activation add lineup depth, while day-to-day concerns for Randy Arozarena and Josh Naylor remain fluid. These roster and standings dynamics shape trader views on series and game outcomes.
