Defending champions PSG aim for a historic three-peat, while Arsenal, Real Madrid, and Manchester City feature among the leading contenders based on squad depth and recent European pedigree. The path to quarterfinals demands strong results across eight league-phase fixtures to secure top-eight seeding or advance through February knockout play-offs, with home/away form, injury management, and fixture congestion shaping outcomes. Upcoming Matchday 2 ties in mid-October will provide further clarity on which sides can sustain consistency into the spring knockout rounds.
