The closely contested 52.5% implied probability on Yes reflects the balance between expanded 48-team group stage mismatches—where favorites like Germany, Spain, France, and Portugal face weaker sides such as Curaçao, Cape Verde, Iraq, and Uzbekistan—and the difficulty of any squad netting 10+ goals across three matches. Recent previews highlight expected multi-goal wins driven by superior attacking depth and the new format's emphasis on goal difference for third-place advancement, encouraging aggressive play. However, compact groups, motivated underdogs, and variable form limit blowouts, with historical precedents showing single-match double-digit hauls remain exceptionally rare. Developments like key injuries to star forwards, strong defensive organization from minnows, or tighter contests among mid-tier sides could shift sentiment either direction before the opening fixtures.
