If the 2026 US Open at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club is cancelled, postponed after July 5, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or if an official Round 2 leader has not been declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to "Other". The primary resolution source will be the official results published by the US Open website (https://www.usopen.com/leaderboard).The 2026 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills features a tightly bunched second-round leader market because the historic, wind-exposed layout has historically produced scattered early leaderboards with no single player dominating the first 36 holes. A deep field of accurate drivers and strong iron players—including recent form standouts like Joaquin Niemann and Cameron Smith alongside established major contenders such as Scottie Scheffler, Rory McIlroy, and Jon Rahm—creates multiple realistic paths to the top spot after Friday. Course conditions that reward ball-striking precision over raw power, combined with variable weather potential and the absence of recent round-specific results, keep implied probabilities clustered as traders weigh comparable statistical profiles and tee-time advantages across dozens of viable options.
