Actual output for the month, however, faces constraints from ongoing supply disruptions linked to the Iran conflict and closure of the Strait of Hormuz, which have already reduced April volumes below targets. The United Arab Emirates' departure from the group effective May 1 further alters the baseline, while secondary-source estimates show persistent gaps between quotas and realized crude output among core producers. Traders are watching whether these geopolitical factors will keep May totals below the adjusted ceiling despite the formal quota increase, with the next OPEC+ policy review scheduled for June 7.
