Lê Quang Liêm claimed the September 8 edition on 9.5/11 after recovering from a mid-tournament loss, edging Hikaru Nakamura on tiebreaks while IM Tobias Koelle took third; Hans Niemann finished fourth on 9 points. Prior weeks have seen wins or strong placings from Nakamura, Jan-Krzysztof Duda, Arjun Erigaisi, Alexey Sarana, and Alireza Firouzja, reflecting the impact of current blitz form, rating edges above 3200, and schedule overlap with events like the Chess Olympiad. Participation levels and individual rest or preparation can shift the competitive balance among these regulars.
