Recent Amazonas-specific polling from late August shows President Lula (PT) holding a narrow lead or technical tie with Senator Flavio Bolsonaro (PL) in first-round voting intentions, with Lula at 38-40% and Bolsonaro at 35-39%. Other registered candidates such as Renan Santos, Pablo Marçal, Ronaldo Caiado, Romeu Zema, and Augusto Cury register in the low single digits or below. These results align with broader national trends and Amazonas voting patterns favoring the incumbent in recent cycles. Traders appear to weigh Lula's regional edge, driven by interior support and established voter bases, against Bolsonaro's PL organization in the state, while assigning minimal probability to lesser-known contenders clearing the field before the October 4 ballot.
