Recent National Weather Service and model consensus forecasts indicate a high near 98–100°F for Austin on September 20 under partly cloudy skies, light southerly winds, and minimal precipitation chance, aligning with the market’s strong preference for 98–99°F. Persistent high pressure and warm advection from the Gulf have sustained a multi-day heat wave with recent daily maxima in the upper 90s to low 100s, well above the 1991–2020 average high of 90°F for the date. Light winds and partly cloudy conditions limit mixing and allow efficient daytime heating while dew points support elevated heat indices, though no significant model shifts or frontal passages are expected before the daily maximum is reached.
