National Weather Service forecasts for New York City on September 20 indicate a high in the lower 70s amid widespread rain and southeasterly winds gusting to 25 mph, with an 80-90% chance of precipitation that will limit daytime heating. Persistent cloud cover and the frontal system arriving from the south are expected to suppress maximum temperatures below seasonal averages near 75°F, aligning trader consensus with the 70-71°F bin at 49.5% implied probability. Updated model runs emphasize steady rain through the afternoon, reducing the likelihood of brief clearing that could push readings into the mid-70s, while historical analogs for similar September setups show highs clustering in the low 70s under comparable conditions.
