**Persistent marine layer and onshore flow from a weak cutoff low are suppressing temperatures in San Francisco on September 20, 2026, keeping the daily high in the mid-60s.** National Weather Service forecasts place the high near 66°F under mostly cloudy skies, with west-southwest winds of 6–11 mph maintaining cool Pacific air and limiting solar heating. This setup follows a brief warm period and aligns with model consensus showing a deeper marine layer than typical for late September, when the climatological average high is about 71°F. Trader emphasis on 64–67°F outcomes reflects these official guidance and the low likelihood of significant warming or clearing before peak heating.
