Current National Weather Service forecasts for Austin indicate a daily low of 76–78°F on September 8, driven by persistent southerly flow, mostly clear skies, and high pressure suppressing cooler air advection. This places the outcome in the upper-70s range, above the 1991–2020 climatological average low of 70°F. Multiple model runs show minimal overnight cooling under light winds and dew points near 70°F, with little model disagreement on the warm bias. Traders appear to weigh the risk of slight forecast shifts from diurnal heating patterns or minor moisture increases against the strong consensus for elevated minima, resulting in closely matched probabilities across 70–81°F buckets while the 88°F+ outcome reflects residual uncertainty in longer-range guidance.
