David Jorda Sanchis enters the Istanbul Challenger first-round matchup against Andres Martin with recent momentum on clay after defeating him 6-4 6-3 in Oeiras qualifying last week. Jorda Sanchis has posted a stronger 2026 win rate and converted break points more efficiently than Martin over the past year, while also holding an edge in deciding sets. Martin, ranked roughly 70 spots higher, has shown inconsistency on the surface this season with mixed results in recent events. The clay-court encounter in Turkey favors the player who can sustain pressure on return, and Jorda Sanchis’s improved second-serve return stats position him well for a competitive opener.
