Gap Inc.'s (GAP) closely balanced Q2 fiscal 2026 earnings outlook reflects mixed recent performance and external pressures ahead of the August 27 release. The company posted a modest EPS miss in Q1, with results at $0.38 versus the $0.39 consensus amid 1% revenue growth that fell short of estimates, though comparable sales rose 2% and full-year guidance was raised on tariff relief worth roughly $80 million to margins. Traders weigh ongoing operating expense leverage and margin expansion against tariff uncertainties, softer consumer spending in apparel, and analyst estimates calling for EPS near $0.39. The report itself, including any updated outlook on sales and gross margins, stands as the decisive catalyst that could shift the 53.5% market-implied probability for missing expectations.
