Magomed Ankalaev’s next opponent remains undecided following his fifth-round TKO of Bogdan Guskov at UFC Abu Dhabi in July, leaving the light heavyweight title picture fluid while champion Carlos Ulberg recovers from ACL surgery into 2027. Multiple ranked contenders sit at or near even implied probability in the market, reflecting broad uncertainty and the absence of an official announcement. Ankalaev has repeatedly targeted Paulo Costa for a potential interim or high-stakes bout, though Costa has declined prior offers. Jiri Prochazka and other established 205-pound names also draw support as stylistic and ranking-based options that could serve as title eliminators. This cluster of viable matchups, combined with schedule and injury variables, sustains the tight competitive dynamics.
