James Duckworth enters the Geneva Open qualifying first round on red clay with clear edges over Miguel Damas, including a substantial ranking gap and stronger recent results on the surface. The Australian has captured nine of his last ten clay matches while reaching a career-high of No. 46, and he arrives after winning five of his past six outings overall. Damas, a 26-year-old Spaniard ranked outside the top 240, has shown inconsistent results this season and lacks prior experience against top-100 opponents. With no head-to-head history between them, Duckworth’s proven ability to handle lower-ranked players on clay sets the baseline expectations for the match, though any late fitness concerns or extended rallies could shift momentum in the younger player’s favor.
