Gea’s recent clay-court activity includes Madrid qualifying appearances, while Petkovic has built momentum through strong ITF M15 results on the surface, securing multiple victories in the Netherlands in early May. The clay courts of Hamburg suit both players’ developing games, though Gea’s higher-level exposure gives him an edge in consistency and tactical variety. No prior head-to-head exists, leaving recent form and physical freshness as key variables for the best-of-three qualifier.
