Circuit Gilles Villeneuve's emphasis on tire management and late-race soft compound runs, combined with frequent safety car interventions and high rear degradation, keeps the Canadian Grand Prix fastest lap market tightly bunched near 47% implied probability for frontrunners including Charles Leclerc, Lando Norris, Kimi Antonelli, Max Verstappen, and George Russell. Recent form shows Antonelli leading the DHL Fastest Lap Award standings after strong results in prior rounds, while McLaren's pace in Miami practice sessions supports Norris and Oscar Piastri as viable contenders. Historical patterns at this track favor strategic pit timing that can elevate midfield runners or even rookies like Gabriel Bortoleto, underscoring how track-specific factors outweigh raw qualifying speed in shaping trader consensus.
