The Louisiana Republican Senate Primary is currently scheduled to be held on May 16, 2026, with a runoff on June 27 if no candidate wins a majority in the primary. This market will resolve according to the listed candidate who receives the most valid votes in the first round of this election. The named candidates will be primarily ranked by the number of valid votes received in the specified election. If two or more candidates are tied on valid votes, ties will be broken by alphabetical order of the candidates' last names. This market will resolve to the candidate that occupies the highest finishing position after applying this ranking. If no 2026 Louisiana Republican Senate Primary takes place, this market will resolve to “Other.” The resolution source for this market will be the first announcement of the results from the Louisiana Republican Party; however an overwhelming consensus of credible reporting may suffice.Julia Letlow holds a commanding lead in the Louisiana Republican Senate primary first round as the candidate endorsed by President Trump, who targeted incumbent Bill Cassidy over his 2021 impeachment vote to convict. With the May 16 vote just days away in a closed primary featuring Cassidy, state Treasurer John Fleming, and lesser-known challengers, traders appear to view Letlow as the clear frontrunner to finish first under Louisiana's jungle primary rules. Recent polling showed a tight three-way contest with substantial undecided voters, yet her position has strengthened amid high Trump-aligned turnout expectations and Fleming's decision to remain in the race. A late surge by Fleming or Cassidy consolidating opposition support, or unexpectedly high undecided turnout favoring the incumbent, remain the primary scenarios that could alter the first-round outcome.
