**ABC World News Tonight with David Muir** maintained its streak as the top-rated evening newscast during the week of August 3–9, 2026, averaging 8.339 million total viewers across episodes and extending its lead as the #1 program on all television for the 17th straight week. Nielsen data showed modest week-to-week gains and continued dominance over NBC Nightly News and CBS Evening News, reflecting steady audience loyalty amid a mix of political developments like Michigan’s Senate primary and regional stories including Washington state wildfires and severe storms. Without a single dominant breaking event capable of driving a major spike, episode viewership stayed clustered near the weekly average. Traders appear to view the 8.5m–9m range for the week’s highest episode as the most probable outcome given this consistent performance pattern and historical norms for the broadcast. Upcoming chart and ratings updates will likely reinforce or adjust these market-implied odds.
