Xinyu Wang enters this WTA Strasbourg clay-court opener as the higher-ranked player at No. 33 against home-country qualifier Lois Boisson, ranked No. 43. Wang’s stronger recent return game and break-point conversion give her an edge on the slower surface, where her experience in longer rallies could prove decisive. Boisson, a 22-year-old Frenchman with solid clay results this spring, benefits from local support and has shown resilience saving break points, though her form has dipped with several recent losses. With no prior head-to-head meetings and both players posting comparable first-serve percentages, the matchup remains closely contested, with outcome hinging on who maintains consistency under pressure during the opening round.
