Alexander Blockx faces Francisco Cerundolo on grass at the HSBC Championships (Queen’s Club) in London, with the men’s draw opening around mid-June 2026. Blockx enters on strong momentum after a breakout clay run in Madrid that included his first top-five win over Felix Auger-Aliassime and a straight-sets victory over Cerundolo in the round of 16. The Belgian, ranked around 37, has shown aggressive baseline play and improved consistency. Cerundolo, ranked near 27, arrives after a Roland Garros third-round exit and limited recent grass-court results, though he holds greater overall experience on the surface. Their lone prior meeting favored Blockx on clay; the faster grass courts shift emphasis toward serve effectiveness and shorter points, potentially amplifying Blockx’s current form edge while testing Cerundolo’s adaptation from the European clay swing.
