The 22-year-old Frenchman has faced stronger weekly competition throughout the season, while Schoenhaus, ranked outside the top 450, has built momentum through recent Challenger-level clay wins but faces a steep step up in opponent quality. With no prior head-to-head meetings, the outcome hinges on Van Assche’s established serve-return consistency and match toughness versus Schoenhaus’s aggressive baseline game and home-soil familiarity. Recent form favors the higher-ranked player despite some inconsistent results, setting up a matchup where experience and ranking depth are expected to shape trader sentiment.
