A UN resolution authorizing such a force passed in November 2025, yet implementation has stalled amid Israeli rejections of withdrawal terms, Hamas resistance to full disarmament, and periodic ceasefire violations including recent Israeli strikes. With the August 31, 2026 resolution deadline approaching, trader positioning reflects limited evidence of imminent ground operations by eligible foreign actors, tempered by ongoing diplomatic talks involving the US, Egypt, Qatar, and regional states that could still accelerate or derail deployment.
