Official Malaysian Meteorological Department forecasts for September 7 indicate a maximum of 34°C under southwest monsoon conditions, with isolated thunderstorms and haze that could cap afternoon peaks through increased cloud cover and evaporative cooling. Trader emphasis on 33–34°C outcomes reflects this consensus alongside historical September averages near 32°C and the moderating influence of regional sea surface temperatures. Ongoing moderate El Niño conditions, with Niño-3.4 anomalies around +1.2 to +1.8°C, favor above-normal warmth and reduced rainfall across Peninsular Malaysia, supporting the slight upward tilt in market-implied odds for 34–35°C. Updated model runs and daily MetMalaysia briefings through September 6 will provide the next key data points for resolution.
