The ongoing restricted free agency standoff between Peyton Watson and the Denver Nuggets remains the dominant factor in trader sentiment, with Denver’s latest offer of four years and $70 million falling well short of the 23-year-old wing’s reported target near $25 million annually. No cap-space teams submitted offer sheets earlier in the offseason, shifting focus to potential sign-and-trade scenarios involving the Cleveland Cavaliers, Milwaukee Bucks, LA Clippers, and Atlanta Hawks. Recent reporting highlights Cleveland as the most engaged suitor amid Nuggets’ second-apron constraints, while other interested clubs have cooled over asset demands and salary matching. Watson’s breakout 2025-26 production continues to support elevated valuation, yet the absence of firm commitments keeps the market tightly contested across multiple outcomes.
