Recent polls position Elif Eralp of Die Linke as the frontrunner for Berlin’s next governing mayor ahead of the September 20, 2026, Abgeordnetenhaus election, with her party reaching 22 percent support in multiple surveys while trailing parties remain clustered lower. Trader consensus reflects this edge, driven by Die Linke’s gains on housing affordability and expropriation pledges, combined with the withdrawal of incumbent CDU mayor Kai Wegner after criticism of his handling of a January power outage. Stefan Evers now leads the CDU slate, yet the party has slipped in recent readings. Potential left-leaning coalitions involving the SPD and Greens further bolster Eralp’s implied probability, while other listed candidates trail amid fragmented support and limited polling visibility for their direct mayoral prospects.
